About RUFF

For dog people, by dog people.

RUFF started as a creative outlet — a way to reconnect with making things just for the fun of it. I had been drawing again after years away from it, mostly sketching my own dogs, Hendricks and Molly at the time. What came out was playful, minimal, and full of personality — and it struck a nerve.

RUFF grew from there. Not as a plan, but as an energy. I wanted to make dog-themed goods that weren’t cheesy or overdone — something that actually felt cool to wear or meaningful to gift. Jenny and I turned that energy into a studio, a brand, and a growing collection of designs that all start from one place: a deep love of dogs.

From custom stickers to embroidered sweatshirts, everything we create is rooted in that original spirit — bold, intentional, and never mass-market. We design it all in Southeast Portland, surrounded by our three dachshunds: Hendricks, Winston, and Poppy.

Over time, the brand evolved. People started asking if I could draw their dogs. That led to the custom pet portraits — a process I’ve shaped through years of experimentation with illustration, design, and AI. Every portrait still starts with a story, a reference photo, and a goal: to capture what makes your dog unforgettable.

We’ve also made it easy to order, personalize, and even re-use designs later on. If you want your dog on a hoodie today and a print next month, we’ve got you — and we offer discounts for repeat pieces. You can even choose a style that suits your vibe, from clean and minimal to floral and bold.

RUFF is for people who talk to their dogs. Whose camera roll is full of dog photos. Who know exactly what their dog’s ears look like when they’re happy. That’s us, too.

Thanks for being here.
